    Immediate communication opportunity in Detroit, Michigan. This position has a $10.00/pay rate. 

     

    Job Summary

     

    Coordinates and assists in the execution of a wide range of communications and marketing functions in collaboration with the Advancement team. Works under the direction of the Marketing Manager and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Assist in preparing, editing, and updating the content of communications printed publications (newsletters, brochures, flyers).
    2. Assist in preparing, editing, and updating the content for our online presence (blog, e-news, calendars, social media platforms, etc.).
    3. Make phone calls to clients and vendors to obtain information for the Marketing Manager.
    4. Create and maintain Samaritas Ripple ENews editorials monthly through Mailchimp.
    5. Provide SEO reports to the Director of Marketing and Marketing Manager.
    6. Interact with other Advancement team members and keep them informed on social/digital campaigns.

    Job Qualifications

     

    Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

    • Associate degree in Journalism, Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.

     

    Experience

    • Previous experience in creative writing and editing a variety of communication tools (newsletters, brochures, and promotional materials).
    • Previous experience in working with multiple social media accounts.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Adobe Creative Suite preferred).

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff, persons served, organizational representatives, and general public. Strong organizational skills.
    • Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidential with organizational information.
