Job Summary

 

Assists in the general maintenance and housekeeping of the building and grounds.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  2. Provide recommendation to enhance quality of services provided.
  3. Clean and prepare vacant rooms.
  4. Clean and ensure building's exterior and interior are maintained as expected.
  5. Perform housekeeping tasks as directed.
  6. Perform external grounds keeping functions at center, including lawn care and snow removal as directed.
  7. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and submit orders to supervisor. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

 

Experience

  • One year housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic applications such as addition, subtraction and multiplication.
  • Ability to relate effectively and harmoniously with staff, residents and general public.
  • Ability to display compassion and empathy towards persons served.

  • Ability to stand and routinely move throughout building and outdoors.
  • Ability to move freely about building and grounds.
  • Ability to push/pull weights of up to 250 pounds and lift weights of up to 50 pounds.
