This position has a pay rate of $52,000 annually.

Provides supervision to staff and oversees refugee residential youth group home operations, ensuring that appropriate services are provided to youth residents as required by state and federal laws, contractual and licensing requirements and applicable service standards. Nurtures a family-like environment in the residence including supporting behaviors and expectations. Provide direct guidance and supervision to residential house staff and work directly under house supervisor, assisting the house supervisor with any needs that arise in the home regarding facility needs and operations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Provide on-going leadership to staff. Partner with house supervisor in talent acquisition and retention efforts. Facilitate program related team meetings
  2. Establish and maintain staff work schedules ensuring the supervision and safety of all youth in the residence
  3. Ensure all paperwork, reports and incidents reports are completed as required, maintaining compliance. Ensure performance outcome measures meet required standards
  4. Assist house supervisor in managing functions of daily operations of the group home
  5. Assist home supervisor in overseeing of general home maintenance, vehicle maintenance, and activities. Ensure all equipment and supplies, including leased van vehicle, are used and maintained in a safe and efficient manner
  6. Monitor and enforce building safety, health, fire prevention, sanitation and smoking regulations. Conduct appropriate fire and weather-related drills
  7. Be aware of the subject matter trained by the house supervisor regarding crisis intervention, behavioral management, and de-escalation techniques. Observe and correct action if needed regarding YSWs implementation of the above techniques in everyday procedures
  8. Assist with supervision and evaluation of Youth Care Workers, under the guidance of the House Supervisor and program leaders

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of work experience in a child caring institution
  • Two years of college from an accredited college or university and 3 years of work experience in a child caring institution
  • High school diploma and 4 years of work experience in a child caring institution
  • Bi-Lingual in Spanish preferred
  • Certified as a Trainer Behavior Management techniques preferred
  • First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor certified preferred


Additional Work Requirements

  • Valid unrestricted drivers license with a good driving record. Proof of automobile insurance. Reliable personal transportation suitable for transporting persons served
  • On-site, in-person work in required for all scheduled hours
  • Participate in a system of 24 hour on-call availability to house, will be required to be on shift to ensure adequate coverage for compliance
