FOSTER CARE SUPERVISOR - FULL TIME - SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN

If you have at least THREE YEARS of work experience in child welfare and at a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in SOCIAL WORK, or other related human services field as approved by the State of Michigan, we want to talk to you TODAY!

This SUPERVISOR of FOSTER CARE supports a team of up to four case workers. Help support and develop our team as they provide services to children and families in and around SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN You will join a leadership team who values work-life balance and commitment to mentoring teams and serving vulnerable youth.

This is a FULL TIME SALARIED ROLE that has a wage range, based on applicable experience, of $51,000 - $58.000 per year.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide weekly individual and team supervision to staff. Lead team meetings and train and support staff.
2. Oversee assignment and placement of children.
3. Work with licensing supervisor to ensure compliance with child placing agency rules and liaison with family court, DHS and other community systems.
4. Provide a range of case management services, including social casework, counseling and treatment of clients, and community referral.
5. Support, direction and leadership for case managers.
6. Provide supportive casework services to child, birth family and foster family during initial placement and replacement.
7. Prepare and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.
8. Ensure accurate and completion of all reports and assignments required by the organization or other agencies.

Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

Master degree in a Human Behavioral Science field AND 1 year of experience as a social service worker in an agency, or a child caring institution, or in an agency in a child welfare function PREFERRED 

OR

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Behavioral Science field AND 4 years of experience as a social service worker, 2 years of which are in an agency or in a child caring institution, or in an agency in a child welfare function REQUIRED.

• Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.

Additional Work Requirements

• Required to participate in a system of 24 hour availability to clients, foster and adoptive parents, and staff, as required.
• Unrestricted, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
