Do you have a Bachelor's in a human services field and a passion for children and families? We want to meet you!

 

Our  Team Lead provides day-to-day direction and guidance to staff in addition to providing case management and social work for children and families in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. The person we seek will have at least 3 years experience working with children and families in foster care services. This position is to specifically supervise 2-3 IL/YAVFC workers in Southwest and West counties

 

This includes transportation of children as needed so CURRENT DRIVER'S LICENSE W/ AUTO INSURANCE IN YOUR NAME IS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN THIS PERSON-CENTRIC ROLE.

This position offers an annual salary of $45,500.00 plus mileage

Provides day-to-day direction and guidance to assigned staff in addition to providing case management and social work for children and families in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Assume primary responsibility for intake and initial placement services for all newly referred cases. Coordinate with Supervisor to process intakes and assignment of new cases to staff. Provide supportive casework services to child, birth family and foster family during initial placement and replacement.
  2. Provide a range of case management, including social casework, counseling and treatment of clients, and community referral. Provide assistance and consultation on complex and difficult cases as requested.
  3. Provide day-to-day direction and guidance to assigned staff ensuring agency service provision to clients and referral sources required by the contract funding bodies.
  4. Coordinate placement arrangements with foster parents and Home Providers, including transportation of children as needed.
  5. Assist in the maintenance of information and data management systems by providing information and statistical reports as required.
  6. Review, correct, and assist in the writing of all social work reports, treatment plans and correspondence. Audit case records at least quarterly to ensure completeness and compliance with prescribed service and contract standards. Collect, assess and document appropriate data and client progress.
  7. Prepare for supervisory conferences; provide documented assurance that all assigned cases are being handled according to treatment plan.
  8. Work collaboratively with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals who have important roles in client’s life situation.
  9. Engage in social interaction and education oriented toward improvement of services to clients.
  10. Attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Bachelor degree in a human behavioral science field and four years’ experience as a social service worker, three years of which shall have been in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function. Or
  • Master’s degree in a human behavioral science field with three years as a social service worker in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function;
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.

 

Additional Work Requirements

 

  • Required to participate in a system of 24 hour availability to clients, foster and adoptive parents, as required.
  • Unrestricted, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
