This position has a pay rate of $43,888.00 annually.

Samaritas’ Enhanced Treatment Foster Care (ETFC) program serves foster children with the highest level of need to allow them to remain in their community placements. The ETFC team provides time-limited intensive support to foster parents and children and coordinates community services to continue to meet the needs of the children and families. The Behavioral Specialist implements treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the ETFC treatment team for ETFC Parents, ETFC youth and their families.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Manage a caseload of high needs youth and their foster families to keep youth in community placement settings and prevent residential placement
  2. Responsible for all cases on assigned caseloads in accordance with caseload ratios as outlined in the ETFC contract
  3. Transport ETFC children and parents as needed to and from medical appointments, community resources and other social activities as defined by the individual child’s treatment plan
  4. Implement treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the ETFC treatment team
  5. Document interactions with and observations of the child, ETFC parents, the child’s family, and other service providers according to policy
  6. Meet the ETFC contract requirements for ETFC parents and children on a monthly basis
  7. Participate in treatment team meetings as scheduled
  8. Participate in weekly meetings with the ETFC supervisor and team
  9. Provide on-call support to ETFC parents; Participate in an on-call system with team members

Job Qualifications

 

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

 

  • Master Degree or Bachelor degree in a human service field and 2 years' experience working with children and families OR
  • Master or Bachelor degree in a alternative field with a minimu of 30 credit hours in the human services field with 2 years’ experience working with children and families

Experience

 

  • Two years’ experience working with children and families.

 

Additional Work Requirements

 

  • Participate in a system of 24-hour availability to clients, caregivers, birth parents/planning family and youth, as required.
  • Required to attend and participate in trainings and other professional development activity, including those outlined by the ETFC contract and Council of Accreditation (COA) requirements.
  • Unrestricted, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance required.
