WELLNESS COORDINATOR - DETROIT, MICHIGAN

 

REQUIREMENT: Bilingual, fluent in Arabic OR Pashto & Dari

 

We are seeking a compassionate, WELLNESS COORDINATOR in the DETROIT AREA to provide a range of interventions to children, adults, and families, using acceptable treatment methodologies consistent with the established practice models. Our behavioral health team members should have a minimum of two years field experience working with families with varying issues using strength-based, family-centered, solution focused approaches to provide mental health services to refugee families using established, program specific core curricula.  

 

The two new team members we seek need to speak Dari and Pashto and the other will need to speak Arabic.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Provide mental health training, services, and support to family units.
  2. Provide a range of interventions to children, adults, and families, using acceptable treatment methodologies consistent with the established practice models.
  3. Actively participate as a member of team meetings; keep all members informed of case status and progress; provide oral and written reports as needed and make recommendations about case goals, alternative service plans, action steps and activities for treatment plans.
  4. Assist clients to clearly define presenting problems, devise methods and goals for resolution, assess their progress toward treatment goals and plan termination.
  5. Present cases to supervisor for review of treatment plans and progress on a regularly scheduled basis.
  6. Provide appropriate referrals for clients requiring additional or alternative services.
  7. Collaborate with referral sources, agencies, institutions, and individuals who have important roles in the family’s life situation. Provide advocacy and professional consultation with the referring organization, schools, court, and other social service agencies as needed.
  8. Complete client follow up at intervals as outlined.
  9. Complete and maintain all reports, statistics and assignments as required. Enter all required data in required systems in a timely manner. 
  10. Participate in all required training and effectively implement learned skills.

Job Qualifications

Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work or comparable human service field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum two years field experience working with families with varying issues using strength-based, family-centered, solution focused approaches preferred.

Additional Work Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record; reliable ongoing personal transportation, current automobile registration and proof of automobile insurance.
